🕊️Dove's Delight

Percussion Quintet (4 Mallet Vibes)

Dove's Delight is a duet scored for vibraphone and marimba. With the addition of an electric bass guitar, drum set, auxiliary percussion, this jazzy piece combines mellow harmonies with heavily syncopated rhythms, complimented with a soothing pulse that bring the music to life. The opening section features a bluesy vibraphone theme accompanied by a solid underlying groove by the marimba and rhythm section. In contrast, the next section propels forward with an energetic riff presented by the marimba. Transitioning to the original harmonic layout, the tune opens for solos exploring more creative possibilities. This piece also won third place in the Percussive Arts Society Italy Composition Contest in 2008.
